I asked for a change of the soft boiled eggs as they were too watery. The counter staff put 2 more eggs to boil but didnt tell me anything. I waited there for 10 mins and asked if my eggs were ready. The staff said I did not tell them when I wanted it served. The staff did not tell me anything prior. I got served with hard boiled eggs in the end. Attitude and service sucks! Never patronizing again!

Ordered its drumstick rice. Basic rice cannot cooked properly already, one big soggy clump still got the cheek to serve customer. Cashier taking order like hoping you don’t patronise again, prices not cheap if you compare with Hainan Bao, nanyang Dao or oriental kopi. Always avoided Toastbox, they used to be good when just started, now their thick toast no longer thick n shrink big time. This experience just confirmed my impression again.
Hopefully Oriental kopi opens more n such poor food quality players will be squeezed out.

As I was able to leave the table, male Chinese cleaning staff told me to return my cup. Not an issue but he did not inform the others and it seems that I was younger and therefore he could ‘instructed’ me to return the cup.
Can visible see that there are other cups around the cafe.
Not mandatory in cafe, and there were earlier patrons who left their bowls, plates and cups after they leave too.
Not a pleasant experience.

I felt the service was not good.
Guy in cashier not friendly and don't want to talk, he just stand in front of me, silent, after he serve the customer, while the other guy was making coffee.
He pointed by finger, when I ask the straw (I always drink hot, this time I order cold) didn't know no straw anymore, the signage at the cashier is not facing to customer but facing side way.
Didn't inform me how to collect my food, other store using beeping token, this store using screen number, and my number never out while the food was there, and later all the number wipeout.
I feel entire vibes here is not good, so I check Google review, and the rating....... Hahahahaha

Opens during first day of CNY. Went on 2nd day. Ordered Nasi Lemak but they are short of peanuts. Went back to check with staff was told out of stock. Should informed the customer before our order.
With the CNY surcharge, at least the staff should have some courtesy to inform customer before order.
Yellow Bear
Another popular chain that sells traditional toast sets and food. The toast sets, coffee and tea are good enough for the price.
Vegetarians can have the toast sets, cake and other meatless dishes.
Do avoid peak hours if you don’t like to queue up for too long as most seats are taken.

Prices of coffee and tea are cheap compared to Tiong Bahru Bakery and Paris Baguette. Food items are expensive and of average quality. I like the spacious seating area.

Horribly slow and long queue for ordering drinks on a Wednesday 1:30pm

Did the.online order by scanning the QR code, and nobody handling the order till I go remind the counter staff. Worst is that they gave the wrong order. Kopi-O becomes Kopi-C, and no less sugar......hai....bad service

Worst TB outlet. Cashier not listening properly. Ordered mee siam set for dine in. Asked for the cake to be pack for take away but still serve it on a plate instead. Mee Siam was served with mee rebus gravy!?!? Took it back to the kitchen to have it changed(waste of time)! House flies flying around the food collection area.
Worst TB outlet I’ve visited.

Ordered Mee Rebus set. Taste was ok. Wanted some tissue paper but the container was empty. Told a female staff who was not busy at that time about it, but she happily replied in mandarin they run out of tissue and refuse to replenish it even though is off peak period at 3pm with only less than 3 customers. When I finished my meal about half hour later, saw that they have replenish the tissue paper. Such degrading service from Toastbox to think that we are paying a premium for their food.

A nice open seating area in Jem shopping mall. Food standards maintained. Staff seems busy and irritated but to me was fine.
Like their black sesame butter toast, bread is crispy and nicely done.

Dining area extended to open area along centre of mall walkway. Drink and food quality within expectation similar to most other outlets. First time trying the black sesame with butter toast - good not being overly sweet.

Typically a coffee chain warrants a 5 stars if they serve good coffee and has a decent environment since it’s usually pretty chill. With this outlet, the environment in the middle of the mall was certainly 5 stars worthy, but with the amount of unwashed utensils and rowdy service by their staff, the overall rating has to be dropped.
☕️ drinks were good and the big cups were value for money (at least for what it looks to be)
Definitely will be waiting a bit for the tables as they are usually pretty packed.

It was an early 7.30am, but the staff were already busying themselves with their respective roles to start operations at 8am. Meanwhile, the mall's robot was also busy sweeping the common area, happily singing along!
Hungry customers trickle in fast but sat down, patiently awaiting the start time.
Then the brighter lights went ON as the queue formed (and cleared of course). One staff was at counter, from taking the orders to cashiering, plating the cake, eggs and making the coffee. Kitchen staff did the rest - getting up the toast, whipping up the Mee Rebus, etc, before the queue numbers were automated-called and customers returned to collect their food.
Good food. Spacious seating area. Happy & polite staff. Thank you. See you again.
