Sliced suan cai fish was good, just a bit too oily. Their stir-fried french bean and the sliced meat with green chilli were delicious. Rice was fluffy and great taste 👍! At first i was quite sceptical about the free flow drinks - Roselle. But after a few sips, it was actually nice! 😅

Signature suan cai yu is too oily for me, I personally prefer a version with a lighter touch. Price point is high but portion size is decent for 2 pax (small), consider getting a big one if it’s for the entire family. Beancurd skin in egg stew is not bad, but the portion size is a little disappointing. Another disappointing factor is that my much anticipated item lotus root soup is not yet available but it’s not stated anywhere, suggest to state upfront before customers attempt to order. Plus point is that you could opt for half bowl rice for half the price, quite thoughtful. Service is pretty prompt and friendly, free-flow roselle tea is a nice touch and refreshing end to a rather greasy meal.

At first, I was drawn in by the concept — the flower tea and the cool, youthful vibe. I had certain expectations, but unfortunately, the experience fell short. It felt more like an ordinary, family-style restaurant. Their signature dish is the sauerkraut fish, which came garnished with pretty chrysanthemum petals — a nice touch. But overall, the food was average. Nothing stood out enough to get excited about. If you’re just looking for a fuss-free meal without the effort of cooking, this place might serve the purpose. But personally, I won’t be back.

The fish was generous and tasty but it was very oily and salty. Needed to scoop out the oil and peppercorn. The cabbage was fresh and crunchy, and the prawn was tasty too Sadly the outlet only had tea bags instead of the plum slices for the drink

Tai Er at Jem offers a bold and flavorful Sichuan dining experience, best known for its signature Chinese Sauerkraut Fish—a tangy, spicy, and aromatic dish with tender fish and addictive broth. The menu features other standout items like Fragrant Spicy Chicken Cubes and Cold Noodles with Chili Sauce, all delivering rich, balanced flavors. With efficient service and a trendy, modern interior, it’s a great spot for spice lovers seeking a satisfying, mouth-tingling meal. Great service from Jin Rong, will definitely come back again

Tai Er never disappoints! The 酸菜鱼 is the star of the meal – silky fresh fish in a rich, tangy, spicy broth that’s addictive till the last spoonful. The balance of sour pickled vegetables and numbing peppercorns makes it unforgettable. The 虾片辣子鸡 is equally amazing – crispy, juicy chicken tossed with dried chilies, and the shrimp crackers add a fun crunch that keeps you reaching for more. Service was quick, portions are generous, and the flavours are bold and authentic. Perfect spot if you’re craving hearty, flavour-packed Sichuan food!

We were thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service! The staff were attentive, friendly, and professional, exuding great enthusiasm and warmth. I enjoyed watching them work while savoring my dinner. Food-wise, the 重庆口水鸡 (Chongqing spicy chicken) was a personal favorite, while my friend raved about the 酸菜鱼 (sour vegetable fish). Although the latter wasn't to my taste, the fish was remarkably tender. The 四季豆 (four-season beans) were decent, but the standout was their delicious white rice – I ended up ordering extra rice! I also appreciated the free-flow tea concept, which added a warm touch to the dining. Overall, we were thoroughly satisfied and will definitely return!

Food not bad but a bit pricey as the portion for the chicken and pork is quite small. The suacai fish portion is sufficient but a bit oily. Long beans are nice. Service was good as the waiters are friendly. Drinks are free flow and the tea were nice. Rice quality was good. Reservation needed for big groups just in case even though it’s not very full

Ordered 酸菜鱼 and enjoyed it very much. Quite generous in the fish pieces, which melts in the mouth. The soup was also very rich and in such big portions that I could pack home to enjoy it a second time! Drinks were free flow. Also highly recommend the lettuce and fried pork strips!

Tried several dishes here, but the Suan La Fish easily stands out as my absolute favourite—hands down the best I’ve had anywhere. Honestly, no other place compares. Bonus tip: if you’re spending above $120, don’t forget to use the Grab Dine-In promo for a 15% discount—definitely worth it!
