I went out with a friend and ordered a spicy stir-fry pot. The number caller clearly went off, but a very rude and impolite woman insisted it wasn’t mine. I had to go back and show them the receipt for verification. My suggestion for anyone eating at this place is to keep your receipt handy to avoid being suspected of stealing someone else’s order. This whole situation ruined my Sunday mood. That said, the lady who took our order spoke Chinese and was very polite. Still, I won’t be returning there again.

Found at the top floor of Jem is this Mala Xiang Guo stall, which has a very limited selection of meats from the normal mala stalls.
While it looks decent, the taste was just largely lacking in any form of dimension whatsoever. Just raw, dried spice and a slight numbing sensation. The sauce also seems to not be coating every item for the mala.
Disappointing.

The WORST Mala ever, eat at your own risk of getting severe food poisoning. Very expensive, and made my stomach churn non-stop. At first after eating this mala for dinner I felt ok, but in middle of night at 4am my stomach felt so bad and pain I puked my mala dinner not once but twice. Evidently the meat was not cooked enough. They won’t reply to this, won’t practice proper hygiene when preparing your food, won't apologise for giving you food poisoning, will only give you a hole in your wallet by charging you a high price for unhygienic mala filled with bacteria. Don’t recommend buying mala from them, will give negative stars if possible.

Good luck eating here there's flies around the food then their utensils and the plate available ain't fully clean or sometimes they js reuse it. The food is super uncooked, broccoli n meat super white, they cut it unevenly and the service is extremely bad, that worker so bitchy. Super expensive

Food seemed undercooked, waited a long time, ingredients had flies flying around, staff had a bad work attitude and was rude. After eating I feel unwell I think I contracted food poisoning

Food on the saltier side. Overly oily. Pricer than similar mala store. Nothing special about the taste. Other food stores in the food court taste better.

The service is horrible can't seem to understand basic English. The last I had Mala here last year beginning it was quite good but NOW STANDARD HAS DROPPED DRASTICALLY! It so freaking SALTY and super oily even after informing them less salt and less oil. So disappointed! Rather not sell mala are other good stalls out there 😡 DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Standard has dropped a lot. Used to my favourite mala place but after 8 months coming back to try again ,totally bad and very salty and oily. I even told them less salt and less oil but it’s terrible. Do not waste your money coming here anymore.

Not the old mala operator before the food court renovation thus not as good. The taste was decent, the price was alittle steep but was quite fast in the service. Nothing much to complain about.

We tried this mala store in the food court and the ingredients were very fresh, service fast and efficient, and the mala spice was so good! Opted for the less satly less oil so the taste was perfect. Will definitely come back!
