We had a wonderful dinner on 28 October to celebrate my husband’s birthday. He loves Jack’s Place’s baked potato!
We ordered the Jack’s Special Steak and the Bacon wrapped Fillet Mignon with Truffle Butter (which can be salted a bit more due to the thickness of the steak) but still delicious. The service was excellent from start to finish. We were served by Hanafiah, the Assistant Manager, who was friendly and attentive. He recommended the Lobster & Crab Stuffed Mushroom, which turned out to be an excellent choice!
A big thank you as well to his team — Nantha, Jamilah, and Susan who were all warm, attentive, and professional throughout the evening. They truly made our dining experience special.
We’ll definitely be back again!

I was here today with my wife for lunch. We were primarily here, because I was able to redeem a complimentary Great Eastern Life lunch voucher, and my wife was craving for some Fish and Chips. So, I ordered with my lunch voucher, a 150g NZ Striploin Steak (medium rare), and it came with gravy, split potato jacket with sour cream, faux bacon bits and spring onions, and a side of veggies - and it was nostalgically very good; "nostalgically" because it was done the old-school Singapore way, which I will elaborate later. And my lunch voucher also afforded me a tea with (and again, this is old-school) evaporated milk on the side, and a lovely scoop of vanilla gelato, and .. plus, by mistake by staff, a slice of garlic bread that is actually meant for another type of lunch set; but never mind, I appreciated the gesture. As for my wife, she ordered (as I hinted earlier) a New England Fish & Chips, which she enjoyed very much. Service here was very very good - very polite, very friendly, very helpful and very attentive. The dining ambience here was also very very good - we were assigned a booth overseeing the spacious and well-ventilated dining area before us.
Back to what I meant by "nostalgically" - before Singapore became a "hub" for Western restaurants and fine dining, Jack's Place led the way for then, affordable Western cuisine dining. And I am happy that it is still very popular locals for that very same reason and for those who have not lost touch with, or are, or are still looking for that old-school Western cuisine done in the Singapore style.

had lunch here on a friday, the place was pretty crowded but i found service to be quite prompt. ordered the chicken steak with baked potato. the chicken was juicy and delicious and the baked potato was just nice. great portion size, and i thought the baked potato topping service was so fun. as part of the voucher combo, i also had a piece of coffee (?) cake, which was not too sweet but a little dry.
thank you to my servers, Hanafiah and the young girl who didn't have a nametag, both were really friendly and helpful and made this a great experience for me.

Visited Jack’s Place at Jem and ordered the Truffle Mushroom Pasta ($15.50) and Hearty Ground Beef Cottage Pie ($15).
The truffle mushroom pasta was decent in flavour, creamy and fragrant with a nice truffle aroma, good portion size.
The cottage pie, however, was quite disappointing. It was described as a hearty ground beef cottage pie, but there was barely any beef in it. The filling was almost entirely mashed potato, easily 90% potato with just a few traces of minced meat. For $15, it definitely didn’t feel worth the price, especially considering the portion and lack of substance.
Overall, service was fine and the atmosphere was comfortable, but for the quality and portion of the food served, it’s not something I would recommend at this price point.

Had a wonderful lunch at Jack’s Place! The chicken steak was juicy, the fish was crispy and tasty, and portions were generous. To top it off, they even served complimentary ice cream, which was a delightful surprise. Great food, friendly service, and cozy vibes, I’ll definitely be back!

Decent food. Not the place I will bother or consider if it wasn't for the Free Great Eastern Voucher that I had to offset. Glad to see the restaurant encouraging older folks to continue working. However support should then be provided as level of service came across as rather grumpy!

This is one of the best places to have food. We had fun with family and friends. The restaurant employees are very flexible and friendly. They have customised options for food. They make you feel comfortable. We celebrated our daughter’s birthday with 15 kids and they made every effort to make sure that we have a good time.
Thanks to the manager and staff.

One my favorite place to satisfy craving for a good yet affordable steak. Food is usually lovely. Staff is generally nice and warm on most occasions that I’m there, but could do better with a little more training in service and seating. I was seated this evening (28 July) at the end of a row of tables, where another couple was seated in the middle. The lady seated beside me could not get out without me having to leave my seat midway through my meal for her to leave. It was an unpleasant experience, though I’m sure some of you may find it okay (so leaving up to you to decide). Thing is this could have been easily avoided IMHO.
Back here again on 4 August. Amazing ribeye! Enjoyed my dinner very much.

Redeemed free set meals for dinner. Had chicken steak on hot plate and chicken and fish with pasta. Food portions are generous and the food tasted great. Service was inconsistent with senior staff being more friendly and training needed for younger staff for better co-ordination.
