small area but people move quickly so you dont need to wait too long. classic nanyang coffee and Kaya toast are delicious. they sell some nicely packed kaya and coffee too, great as gifts. prices have been going up and quire expensive now for coffee so minus 1 star.

One of the best Kopis after trying so many yakun outlets made by an Indian gentleman. Great service from the crew .
Just quite noisy from the gaming arcade so best to eat and go .

Ya Kun Kaya Toast at JEM is a solid choice for anyone craving a classic kaya toast set. While the drinks might sometimes lack the perfect consistency, the toast and eggs are consistently good, making it a reliable and convenient spot for a quick and satisfying meal.

Had the tea time set at $4.80 with choice of cake/pastry with teh/coffee. Environment was a bit warm as it’s surrounded by neighbouring food outlets. Taste is generally good and consistent.

Nice combination of Kaya Butter Toast with Half boiled egg. Sprinkle some black pepper and soy sauce over the half boiled egg for better taste. Hot milk tea taste good together with the combination of toast and eggs 🥰 A signature breakfast within Malaysia and Singapore 😇

Extremely low wait for the toast to be served. The guy making it is just taking his own sweet time, without considering that customers do not have the luxury of time like him. Waited for almost 30 minutes just for the toast to be ready. Would never patronise this Yakun outlet again.

The Chinese young cashier wearing spectacles is ok, her service got faster.
The middle-aged female supervisor was very rude! She's on the plump side, wears a black shirt and glasses. She makes fun of customers in their faces and they think that customers don’t understand what she’s talking about.
This is the last time I’m buying coffee from this shop!
It was very uncomfortable buying drinks from this store. I hope YaKun HQ or the franchise owner look into this.
There’s a review by Mr. L and I agree with him! It’s the same supervisor who is so rude! To Mr. L, I have to credit you because you took a good picture of the supervisor!

Ya Kun Kaya Toast (Jurong Gateway): A Mixed Bag (3.5/5 Stars)
Rating Breakdown:
• Kaya Toast: 5/5 (Still a classic, perfectly toasted with the right amount of butter and kaya)
• Coffee and Tea: 3/5 (Not as flavorful and not as piping hot as other outlets)
Overall: 3.5/5
Donkey and I are huge fans of Ya Kun Kaya Toast! We're not sure what it is about their coffee and tea, but it's always so flavorful. Whenever we're craving a good cup of coffee or tea, Ya Kun is our go-to choice, especially if there's one nearby.
We were in the Jurong Gateway area and decided to visit this outlet for a coffee and some kaya and butter bread toast. However, we noticed that the coffee at this outlet was a bit different from the other outlets we've tried. It wasn't as flavorful, and it wasn't as piping hot as we're used to. We also found the tea to be less flavorful than usual.
Their kaya toast is still a classic Singaporean treat. It's always perfectly toasted, with just the right amount of butter and kaya. We love the combination of the sweet kaya and the salty butter.

Terrible Service by Rude Supervisor – Absolutely Disappointed with Ya Kun
To whom it may concern,
I’m writing this because I am absolutely disgusted with the kind of service I received at Ya Kun today. Around 10 AM, I was served by a woman in a black shirt — I believe she’s the supervisor — and her attitude was downright pathetic.
I ordered more than 4 items and naturally tried to take two trays to carry everything. But instead of helping or even speaking like a normal human being, she scolded me, saying I was not allowed to take more than one tray. Excuse me? Is this some kind of military camp or a café?
The place wasn’t even busy — not even close — and she still acted like she was overwhelmed, with a terrible attitude, talking down to me like I did something wrong. If this is what Ya Kun considers acceptable behavior from its supervisor, then your customer service standards are a joke.
I’m honestly done with Ya Kun. I’ll go to Fun Toast or anywhere else — at least they know how to treat customers like actual human beings. If this is a franchise outlet, I hope HQ takes a long hard look at who they’re putting in charge. If this is your main outlet — even worse. It reflects horribly on your brand.
And add on something the Bigger Size of Supervisor can be in the half way sitting down and forget my order, and let the staff doing alone without any concern.
Absolutely pathetic. Do better.
