A place for a quick bowl of nice hot porridge. I ordered e Batang Fish porridge with added egg. The fried fritters comes with e porridge. Order is self service. Hassle free. Porridge s smooth and nice. Fish slices s quite generous. Overall, I enjoyed it.

Fairly understaffed. Place sits approximately 16pax. Congee (Cantonese zuk) was decent. The fish slices were fresh. Minced pork and century egg were generous considering the serving. Stewed pork bellies were creamy and salty, suitable to be paired with plain congee. Expect long queue and difficulty to find seats during peak hour.

I had to throw away the whole bowl of porridge because the intestines had little bits coming out of it. I sincerely hope that it isn’t a parasite and it’s just a bad job cleaning out the vessels, but even then, that’s still a big no-no for pig intestine. For $9, I would’ve hoped that I would be getting an edible bowl of porridge. Safe to say I’m definitely not going to recommend this to my friends. No comments on the service and atmosphere.

Ah Chiang's Cantonese Congee first opened in the Tiong Bahru area. The congee was excellent, especially the pork porridge. They also have a good range of side dishes, and even desserts and drinks. Since then, a couple of branches have sprung up, and this one in Jem seems to be the latest. Unfortunately, everything in this branch is scaled down, the seating capacity, the choice of food, service staff... seems like the only thing that's increased is the price. While the pork porridge was still decent, the fish porridge was terrible. Throwing a couple of slices of fish into a bowl of porridge cooked with chicken or pork stock is NOT fish porridge. Avoid it. I'm frankly disappointed. Go to the original shop for a 4 star eating experience.

Surprisingly empty at 12.30pm. Was able to find a seat quickly. Ordered the pork liver porridge. $6.80 with you tiao included. It was okay. But im quite concerned with the pork liver because there was still redness present in the meat especially in the middle after i chewed the meat in half. Though I never brought it up to the kitchen since I dipped it back into the hot porridge, i dont think i will order this again. Maybe try the other options.

Ordered take away for 2 bowls of porridge at 630pm and waited for 30 minutes. Looked understaff with one chef. Would be good to put a signage to indicate waiting time so that we are aware of the expected time before ordering at the self service kiosk The entrance looks unsightly with boxes piled up and blocking the digital menu

Order via the self serviced kiosk was easy. Waiting time is quite short for peak hour period. Ordered the mixed pork porridge, intestine porridge, homemade prawn roll and century egg. Porridge were above average. Silky and smooth. Generous sesame oil made it more fragrant. Intestine had no gamey smell, cleaned well. Prawn roll was below average, filling was like paste like, severely lack of texture of what a home made roll should be like. Century egg as side dish came with ginger slices garnishing. Most places served century egg with ginger but the ginger is pickled. This one was not pickled and did not go well with century egg.

The porridge was too thick and dense, for my taste. What is unexpected is the lumpiness of the porridge, found many lumps of porridge like the one the pic. Wonder if the boss of Ah Chiang's Porridge QC the cooking in this outlet. Standard so diff from the original one at Tiong Poh Rd.

This is a horribly dishonest business that cheated my money – they charged me for but shortchanged my side dish (you tiao) and takeaway container. I paid for 3 takeaway containers for 2 porridges and 1 extra side (salted egg). Still, I only received 2 containers because they placed the extra side (salted egg) in one of the porridge's you tiao compartments without giving me the you tiaos! Effectively, I paid extra to be shortchanged 1 container and 1 portion of you tiaos! I have stopped patronising this pathetic cheating business. The quality and service have also worsened astonishingly over the years.

A warm and clean bowl of porridge. Like what they advertised, it doesn’t contain any salt nor MSG as its pretty much very bland on its own. However, there’s a topping / sauce station which has soy sauce, pepper, chilli padi, ginger and spring onion that we may add as per our liking. Constantly flooded with patrons in a small space, but food is served fast with an efficient queue system. Not one porridge I would go for unless I’m down for some clean and healthy food.
